Weihnachten mal anders. Letztes Jahr im Hostel in Downtown Cancún, México und ein Jahr später am Strand von Las Peñitas an der nördlichen Pazifikküste von Nicaragua. Ebenfalls im Hostel, welches auf den Namen Mano a Mano getauft wurde. Es befindet sich direkt am Strand und wurde fast komplett aus recycelten und natürlichen Materialien gebaut,
Strandbar inklusive! Ebenfalls ist der Surf direkt vor der Haustüre und der schwarze Sand mit den Felsen im Wasser vervollständigen das Gesamtbild. Ein Traum.
Weihnachten war gar nicht weihnachtlich, es fehlte an allem. Kein Schnee, kein kaltes Wetter, keine Weihnachtskekse und auch die Dekoration fehlte. Trotzdem wars ein spezieller Tag und ich versuchte immerhin mit etwas Weihnachtsmusik die Leute im Stimmung zu bringen.
Ein gemeinsames Abendessen gabs aber trotzdem, zubereitet von einem französischen Koch. Peperoni gefüllt mit Fisch und Yuka-Kartoffelstock especial! Mmmhh gut wars. Anstelle Glühwein tranken wir 7 jährigen localen Rum, welcher allen mundete.
Für mich ein gelungenes Weihnachtsfest mit tollen Menschen an einem einzigartigen Ort.
Christmas with a difference. Last year at a hostel in Downtown Cancún, Mexico and a year later on the beach of Las Peñitas on the north Pacific coast of Nicaragua. Also in a hostel, which was named Mano a Mano. It is located right on the beach and was built almost entirely from recycled and natural materials,
Beach bar included! Also, the surf right outside the front door and the black sand with the rocks in the water complete the overall picture. A dream!
Christmas was not Christmas, it lacked everything. No snow, no cold weather, no Christmas biscuits and also the decoration was missing. Nevertheless, it was a special day and I tried to bring the mood to the people with some Christmas music.
But there was a dinner together, prepared by a French chef. Hot peppers stuffed with fish and mashed potatoes especial! Mmmhh it was good. Instead of mulled wine, we drank 7-year-old local rum, which all mouthed.
For me a successful Christmas with great people in a unique place.
