My birthday @ Hostel Akumal

Categories Beach, Impressions, Mexico

March 28, as every year a special day for me. This time again far away from home. Already my second birthday in another country and without my family & friends.

But in such a cool hostel as the Akumal Hostel, a birthday family was found easily. The day started already very rich, with a big brunch together with Ethan. The same Ethan from Canada I met two months ago in San Pedro, Guatemala. Our paths have crossed again here in Mexico.

The afternoon was calm and of course we did not miss the sunset. Three cool Argentinian boys then made a brilliant BBQ and the owner of the hostel has even organized some birthday decoration. I prepared avocado-tomato-cheese salad & potato salad. Of course to start some Guacamole & Chips as well as for drinking homemade Mojitos & Cuba Libres! Dinner was wonderful & the atmosphere just right.

And more internationally than ever, Argentina Canada, USA, Mexico, Germany, England, Ireland, Russia, Finland and even India were represented.

As a matter of material there was only something and this was exactly the right thing. The owner Tania gave me a kids surprise egg … Mmmh the chocolate was a dream!
