Yucatan with friends

Categories Beach, Mexico

For the first two nights we rented an airbnb in the middle of Cancún. Surrounded by mexican life and we liked it quite well. We visited a local market and explored the neighborhood. Of course we went to the famous beach of Cancún. This was my first mexican beach in December and also one of the most beautiful city beaches of my travels. Dinner we had in the Señor Frog, a typical springbreaker restaurant. The food was good but also had its price.

The next morning we left early, took the bus to Chiquila & then off to the island of Holbox. Here I had eleven wonderful days in December. This time only 3 but also these were fantastic. Then a night in Playa del Carmen and five more in Tulum. Here we explored the Mayan ruins of Tulum, the beaches and made excursions to Cenotes as well as to Chichèn Itzá & Valladolid. The five days in Tulum were adventurous & relaxing, despite the fact that there were partly heavy rain showers. The good Mojitos in the Batey bar and the countless icecreams made everything good again.

Last stop in Mexico was Bacalar, right at the lagoon we spent two nights hopping several times into the picturesque Laguna Bacalar. From Bacalar we left via Chetumal to the border of Belize. We successfully crossed and will spend the last days in Belize.
