Auf der Fahrt hoch in die Berge auf knapp 1500m über Meer fiel die Temperatur gegenüber von Bocas deutlich.. doch die Landschaft lies dies vergessen. Der Bus stoppte neben einem Wegweiser mit der Aufschrift “Lost & Found Hostel”, das war unser Ziel. Ganz da waren wir aber nicht. Es folgte eine kleine Wanderung 20 Minuten hoch in den Jungel. Mit allem Gepäck und etwas Schweiss auf der Stirn erreichten wir das Hostel, mitten im Jungel und mit atemberaubender Ussicht übers Tal und rüber zum höchsten Vulkan von Panama.
Wir blieben vier Nächte, und die vierte war sogar kostenlos. Dies gab uns Zeit die umliegende Schönheit des Jungels zu erkunden und ebenfalls einen naheliegenden Canyon zu besuchen. Auch die Nächte im Hostel waren spannend. Tolle Leute und die Abgeschiedenheit waren Grund für diese.
Gemeinsam mit unserer neuen Bekanntschaft Donna aus Australien machten wir uns nach 4 erlebnissreichen Tagen auf zur nächsten Station ein Tal nebenan. Boquete hiess der Ort und wir blieben 2 Nächte. Ein scharmantes kleines Dorf in den Bergen, welches uns sofort mit seinen freundlichen Einwohnern in seinen Bann zog.
Doch das coolste war unser Hostel, denn dieses war ein Schloss, inkl. Kamin, Indoor-Pool und Jacuzzi. Wir fühlten uns wie Könige.
Nach zwei erholsamen Nächten hiess es Abschiednehmen von Justus, er reiste weiter Richtung Süden. Donna und ich nahmen den Bus hoch an die Grenze nach Costa Rica. Nächster Halt, die pazifische Küste von Costa Rica.
On the way up into the mountains at just 1500m above sea level, the temperature was clearly opposite Bocas .. but the landscape let forget this. The bus stopped next to a signpost saying «Lost & Found Hostel», that was our destination. We were not there completely. This was followed by a short hike 20 minutes into the jungle. With all our luggage and some sweat on our forehead, we reached the hostel, in the middle of the jungle and with a breathtaking view over the valley and over to the highest volcano in Panama.
We stayed four nights, and the fourth was even free. This gave us time to explore the surrounding beauty of the jungle and also visit a nearby canyon. The nights in the hostel were exciting. Great people and the seclusion were reason for this.
Together with our new acquaintance Donna from Australia we started after 4 eventful days to the next station a valley next door. Boquete was called the place and we stayed 2 nights. A charming little village in the mountains, which immediately captivated us with its friendly inhabitants.
But the coolest was our hostel, because this was a castle, including fireplace, indoor pool and jacuzzi. We felt like kings.
After two relaxing nights, it was time to say goodbye to Justus, he continued to travel south. Donna and I took the bus up to the border to Costa Rica. Next stop, the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.
